LEADERS OF THE HUNGARIAN INDUSTRIAL AND SERVICE SECTORS HAVE ALREADY CHOSEN WINERGY:

As a forward-thinking business leader, you want to make sure your company meets its mandatory energy audit obligations, but…

The regulations keep changing and it’s hard to follow when and in what form the requirements must be met.

Your internal capacity and expertise may not be sufficient to handle the process professionally in-house.

Without a clear overview of your company’s energy use, inefficiencies remain hidden, while costs keep rising.

Winergy’s experts have already guided numerous companies through the mandatory four-year audit process, helping business leaders gain a complete picture of their company’s energy consumption.

2026 is approaching fast
Will your audit be ready in time? Deadline: October 11, 2026.

A According to Act LVII of 2015, every large enterprise with an average annual energy consumption exceeding 10 TJ over the past three years is required to perform an energy audit, which must be repeated every four years.

Here’s the sustainability equation that works for your company too:

Obligations + Winergy =
A Greener Future

Legal obligation:

Energy and sustainability requirements are becoming stricter than ever.

Ignoring these obligations is not an option. Legislators impose deadlines, demand detailed documentation, and failure to comply can result in severe penalties. For large companies, this creates constant pressure: How can management ensure that all data is accurate, reports are submitted on time, and no gaps remain in the system?

Compliance is no longer the question — only how to achieve it most safely and efficiently.

Winergy’s Expert Support:

We take the entire compliance burden off your shoulders.

Winergy’s expert team keeps up-to-date with all evolving regulations and knows exactly how to apply them in practice. We don’t just produce paperwork — we build systems that truly work in everyday operations.

We handle every step of the process: data collection, analysis, reporting, and coordination with authorities. You can rest assured that all obligations are met while management can make well-informed decisions based on clean, accurate data.

A Greener and Safer Future:

Trust, reputation, competitive advantage –
and a smaller ecological footprint.

Meeting sustainability requirements brings more than a checkmark on a legal list.
The market, partners, and customers now expect transparency, responsibility, and “green” operations. An ESG report, audit, or certification builds trust and enhances corporate reputation, positioning your company as a future winner — both environmentally and economically.

If your company fits into any of the categories below, you most likely need to carry out an energy audit.

Starting January 1, 2026, every business entity whose average annual energy consumption over three years exceeds 10 TJ will be required to complete an energy audit (or obtain ISO 50001 certification if consumption exceeds 85 TJ).

LARGE INDUSTRIAL CONSUMERS

Energy-intensive industries such as automotive, building materials, pharmaceuticals, battery manufacturing, food production, chemical industry, metal processing, and printing. These sectors typically operate with high and continuous energy demands.

ENERGY AND UTILITY PROVIDERS

Electricity, gas, or district heating suppliers — where the system’s scale inherently exceeds the legal consumption threshold.

KÖZLEKEDÉSI ÉS LO-GISZTIKAI KÖZPONTOK
TRANSPORTATION AND LOGISTICS HUBS

Warehousing centers, freight companies, and road or rail transport operators, where combined building and vehicle energy use is substantial.

RETAIL
CHAINS

National store networks and shopping centers, where lighting, cooling, and heating systems result in significant energy consumption.

INSTITUTIONS,
FACILITIES

Universities, data centers, sports arenas, office buildings, agricultural facilities, and smaller production sites, all typically operating with high utility demands.

But what Exactly Is an Energy Audit?

A mandatory assessment that provides a clear and detailed picture of your company’s energy consumption.

An energy audit is a comprehensive analysis that reveals where and how your company uses energy. Through expert measurements, data collection, and in-depth evaluation, a professional report is prepared that identifies inefficiencies and offers concrete cost-saving recommendations. It is required every four years, but beyond compliance, it represents a real business opportunity — turning savings into measurable results.

MEET THE KEY PLAYERS OF THE ENERGY AUDIT PROCESS

Your Company

You are the client whose energy consumption must be continuously monitored. All annual summaries and monthly reports are based on your operational data, ensuring transparency and traceability.

Winergy Experts

We handle the entire process — from data collection, on-site inspection, calculations, and analysis, to compiling the official audit report, which we then present both to your management and the MEKH (the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority).

MEKH – The Authority

The Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (MEKH) supervises compliance and ensures that large enterprises fulfill their legally required energy audit obligations.

Although MEKH is the supervising authority, you only need to work directly with Winergy, we handle all coordination on your behalf.

The Energy Audit Process Step by Step,

Clear and transparent — explained like you’ve never seen before:

Step #1.:

Data Request

We begin by agreeing the objectives, expectations and deadlines. We learn your production and operational modes, then collect your company’s energy consumption data (electricity, gas, district heating, fuels, etc.) and basic documentation (invoices, meter readings, technical documentation, machines and equipment, building services) to form an accurate picture of the current situation.

Step #2.:

On-site Inspection

Our experts survey buildings, systems, machines and equipment. They observe operational processes and, where necessary, perform instrumented checks (thermal imaging, current measurements, temperature and pressure measurements, etc.) to uncover the specifics and potential issues of your energy use.

Step #3.:

Detailed Analysis

We analyse energy flows and consumption profiles. We identify main consumers and prepare energy balances, detailed calculations and comparisons. We examine periodic load profiles and efficiencies, and pinpoint sources of waste (e.g. poor insulation, oversized equipment).

Step #4.:

Megtakarítási javaslatok

Based on the analysis we develop concrete measures that deliver cost reduction and improved energy efficiency. Recommendations range from short-term, low-cost actions (settings, maintenance, operational discipline) to medium- and long-term investments (modern equipment, insulation, lighting upgrades, integration of renewables).

Step #5.:

Audit Report Preparation

We compile all findings into the official, regulation-compliant study that forms the basis of compliance. The report presents the current state, identified issues, proposed measures and expected savings. It includes cost-benefit analyses and payback calculations, plus recommendations on priority and an implementation roadmap.

Step #6.:

Presentation of Results

We present the completed report in plain language to your management and hand over the recommended actions so that well-founded decisions can be made. We discuss questions and feedback, and forward the final report to the competent authority. Deadline for the first audit: October 11, 2026 — subsequently audits must be carried out at least every four years.

The entire energy audit process — from A to Z — is handled by Winergy’s experienced team, so you only need to make the decisions.

The expert consultation is free and does not entail any contractual or other obligations.

But our company

still has time for that. isn’t at risk of a fine. handles it in-house.

Many executives think this when it comes to sustainability or energy obligations. Understandably so — with daily operations taking priority, it’s easy to postpone what doesn’t seem urgent.

But reality shows otherwise: Deadlines are approaching, fines are tightening, and competitors are already ahead in the green transition.

If you don’t act now, you risk falling behind.
